Kathryn (Kay) Angstead

Kathryn M. (Kay) Angstead, 59, died at her home in Port Orchard on June 30, 1999.  She was born on May 25, 1940 in Burlington, Iowa to Robert A. & Rita (Vorwerk) Beine.  She was raised in Burlington graduating from Notre Dame High School in 1958.  Kathryn married Donald E. Angstead on June 11, 1960 in Burlington, Iowa.Mrs. Angstead was a Teller Supervisor for 15 years at the Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union retiring in 1998.  She previously worked for Kitsap Bank from 1979 to 1985.  She was a member of Port Orchard Eagles Auxiliary, Holiday Rambler RV Club, and Retired Military RV Club, Chapter 421.She is survived by her husband; son Christopher R. Angstead of Springfield, Virginia; daughter Kelley A. Cassity of Windsor, California; brother Robert Beine of Sandford, Florida; sisters Rita Cross of Chariton, Iowa and Barbara Kriegbaum of Baldwin City, Kansas; grandchildren Deming & Renick Cassity of Windsor, California, and stepgrandson Kenny Lockwood of Springfield, Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her brother James in 1990.Vigil service Monday, July 5, 1999 at 7:00 PM at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.  Funeral service Tuesday, July 6, 1999 at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard with interment at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent following at 2:00 PM.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, 3100 Bucklin Hill Road, Silverdale, WA 98383.
