Kenneth Bodeutsch

August 30, 1925 — October 24, 2010

One of the “Greatest Generation” went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 24, 2010. He was born in Kansas City on August 30, 1925 of Paul and Bertha Bodeutsch.  Kenneth enlisted in the Navy when he was 17, stationed on the battleship US Nevada. In 1946 he married Catherine (Kay) Alderton. Moving to Seattle he worked as a plumber at Boeings, advancing to the tooling department and then management. He was honored with several achievement awards and in 1979 was named “Man of the Year.”  He retired after 40 years in 1987.  Ken and Kay always enjoyed traveling. They were charter members of the Shoreline Berean Church and members of the American Fuchsia Society winning several awards and trophies. They moved to Port Orchard in 1994. He pursued his woodworking hobby and was well known for his wood working skills.  He was predeceased by his wife, Kay, his great grandson, Augustine, his brother Paul, and sisters Helen Leonard and Viola Prater.  He leaves his son Gary and wife Jeanette of Tumwater, son Calvin and wife Karen of Port Orchard, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 7PM, Friday, October 29, 2010 at South Kitsap Alliance Church, 5000 Bethel Ave, Port Orchard, WA. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery.
