Kenneth Graham Lewallen was born in Torrington, Wyoming, on June 19, 1939, to Dick Lewallen and Alice Sandman. Upon the death of his parents at age 11, Kenneth and his brother, Rodney, were adopted by Ralph Morrill and Velma Morrill of Torrington. After graduation from Torrington High School in 1958, Kenneth attended Colorado State University and Goshen County Community College in Torrington. After college, Kenneth served in the United States Army from May, 1961 to April,1964. He was awarded a Good Conduct medal as a marksman with the M14 rifle. After an honorable discharge from the Army, Kenneth worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, first in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and later in Seattle, Washington, until his retirement. After retiring from the Postal Service, Kenneth worked for Diamond Parking in Bremerton, Washington.
Kenneth married Daryl Anne Gray in 1984. Daryl Anne had two children from her first marriage.
Though Kenneth never had children of his own, he had a huge heart for little kids and was known in Port Orchard, Washington, for handing out little push toys to children who came into Nostalgia House Bakery with their parents. He loved making little children smile. Kenneth gathered with friends at the bakery almost every day from 2013 until his death.
He is survived by his brother Rodney Lewallen Morrill, his sister Ann Keelin, and step-children Jenny Lynn Peterson and Michael Dennis Oliver.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Alice Lewallen, by brothers Don Lewallen, Harold Lewallen, Gene Lewallen, Bob Lewallen, Keith Lewallen, Carl McAtee, Tom McAtee and by his sister Aida Dennis. Kenneth was interred at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard on December 18, 2024.
A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Saturday, February 8th, at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6411 154th Street, NW, Gig Harbor, Washington.
