Kenneth S. Prichard, 81 of Port Orchard, Washington died in Bremerton, Washington on March 20, 2008. He was born August 5, 1926 in Bremerton to Garrett & Jane (Dorr) Prichard. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard in 1944. He married Ayako "Keichan" Taketomo in 1956 in Yokohama, Japan. She preceded him in death in 2006. Kenneth worked with Coast & Geodetic Survey & the Army Corps of Engineers in various positions from remote areas of Alaska & the Pacific. He was a Pilot in Yokohama, Japan and the Panama Canal for many years until retirement. He served in the Merchant Marines with MSTS, earning his Master's License. Kenneth enjoyed "talking ships" with family & friends and photography. He was a member of the Panama Canal Pilot's Association. Surviving are daughter Yoshiko "Ayame" (Prichard) Taketomo; sister Janice (Les) Davis of Wauna, WA; grandchildren George (Asako) Anzai & Kenji (Sonyoung) Anzai; great-grandsons Hiromi & Uchu; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Don, Bob, George & Jean; sisters Kathy Christenson, Patricia Ford & Rita Wolfer.
