Lanny Horton, 84, of Bremerton, Washington, passed away on January 25, 2025. He was born August 15, 1940 in Alliance, Nebraska to Melvin Horton and Vera Horton.
Lanny is survived by his brother Tom; two sons, Ryan & Brandon, and three granddaughters Emmalynn, Elenor, & Eris.
Lanny was a Civil Services retiree, working at the supply center in PSNS, retiring after 33 yrs. and 11 months. He enjoyed spending time with his family, vacation time to the ocean or state parks was a real enjoyment. Vacation time at the ocean meant kite flying, and there was nothing Lanny enjoyed more than flying his kites with his family. Of course aside from watching sports, from basketball, baseball to football as long as his family was by his side he was the happiest he could be. Content in his life with the lord Jesus Christ, he was a devout Christian, spreading his love for the Lord with any who dared to listen. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing, either from a boat or off the shoreline on Bay Street in Port Orchard. Chess tournaments and bowling leagues, playing football & basketball, his family will never forget his story about his ankle injury while he was playing a game of football out at Neah Bay in his youth, or his fishing stories.
Lanny is deeply loved and missed by his family and friends forever in our memories.
