Larry George

Lawrence ‘Larry’ George, 68, a former Kitsap County resident, died in Bremerton on September 5, 2009. He was born in Farragut, Iowa to John and Iona George on January 25, 1941. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1959 then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1968. He served one tour in Viet Nam and was a Drill Instructor. He married Cheri Martens in Missouri Valley, Iowa on September 24, 1983. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard retiring in 1995 as a supervisor with the Tool and Dye Shop. He also worked as a horse trainer and horse show judge. George enjoyed bowling, deer and elk hunting, fishing, golfing and being in the mountains driving his truck. He is survived by his wife Cheri; sons Wayne George of Omaha, Nebraska and Robert George of Vacaville, California; daughters Iona Krier  (Pat) and Barbara Dominguez (Larry) all of Kent; brothers Len George (Sharon) of Nampa, Idaho and John L. George (Fay) of Port Orchard; sister Lavina K. Ryan of Port Orchard; 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life is Saturday, the 12th at 3:30 pm at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.
