It is with great sadness that the family of Laura Nell Ashe announced her sudden passing on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the age of 64, in Gig Harbor, Washington. She was a beacon of light and warmth in the community she dearly loved.
Laura will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kelly of 28 years and mother, Shirley; sister, Becky (husband Al) and brother, Lloyd (wife Peggy). Laura’s love extended to her three children, David (wife Tina), Jamie (husband Dan) and Kyle, who remember her as a nurturing soul, always ready with a comforting word or an engaging story. Her four grandchildren, Celina, Lauryn, Makenna and Holland will carry her legacy of kindness and joy.
Laura was predeceased by her father, Lloyd, sister, Mary (husband George) and step-son, Derrek.
Laura was born in Bremerton, Washington and grew up along the shoreline of Long Lake and loved spending time with her family and friends on the water. She attended South Kitsap High School, but adult life started early for her, and priority became being a mother. As a young mom, she worked tirelessly to raise and provide for her two children. She chose a career path of working outdoors, within the evergreen business, and because of her tireless work ethic, she continued in the industry for over 40 years. In 1998 Laura met the love of her life and married Kelly Ashe, together they raised their son, Kyle. Laura had a “work hard” attitude but also enjoyed traveling around the Pacific Northwest meeting new folks at local places and embracing in conversations. You could always count on her to be the life of the party! She also loved her precious pets: Ginger, Meow Meow, and Tinker and her beautiful “Botanical Garden” on the home porch.
Laura will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Laura will be held on July 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rill Chapel Tribute Center, located at 1151 Mitchell Ave. Port Orchard, Wa.
