Laura May Blowers, 77 of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on August 9, 2005. She was born in Sauk Centre, Minnesota on August 10, 1927 to Earle H. & Marie A. (Lee) Soule. Laura married Wayne R. Blowers on April 10, 1948 in Port Orchard. He preceded her in death in 1972. Laura worked for 13 years at the U. S. Naval Ammunition Depot at Bangor, and for 7 years as an Assistant Photolithographer at the Navy Publications & Printing in Bremerton, Washington. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #239 and enjoyed bowling dancing, and gambling. Surviving are sons Danny (Linda) Blowers, Larry (Ginger) Blowers, and Dean (Carole) Blowers, all of Port Orchard; daughter Cheryl (Steven) McElliott of Santa Monica, California; brother William Soule of Tacoma, Washington; sisters Betty (Arthur) Sanford of Port Orchard, Mickey (Wendall) Sullivan of Puyallup, Washington, Shirley McVey of Puyallup, and Dona (Thomas) Fortescue; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings Carol Boustead, Lavina Soule, Helen Serfling, and Verle Soule. Visitation is Monday, August 15th from 9am to 5pm and Tuesday, August 16th from 9am to 1pm. Funeral service is August 16, 2005 at 1:00pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Interment will follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard at 2:30pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
