Lavena Mares

Lavena Marguerette Mares, 71 of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on July 6, 2010.  She was born July 11, 1938 in Bell County, TX to Oscar, Sr. & Annie (Williams) Childers.  She married Albert J. Mares on August 17, 1960 in Florence TX and he preceded her in death in 2003. Lavena was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, reading, watching the Mariners, and her grandchildren.  Surviving are son Charles (Jan) Mares; daughter Adonna (Roger) Swort; brother David (Lawanna) Childers; sister Ruthann (Tom) Blanton, 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and.extended family Glenda Ellis, Jan Grosso & Carol Tweedy.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Memorial service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.  Celebration of Life gathering following service at 2681 S.W.
