LaVena Maxine "Hansen" Snay was born to her parents, Ira Hansen and Lelia Hansen in Defiance, Iowa on Tuesday January 19, 1932. She was precedeed in death by her Father Ira Hansen and Mother Lelia Hansen Egan and Sister Thelma Gravel and Baby boy Rockwell at birth. She is survived by her children Gale, Cindy, Debby, Dolly, Sue, Charlie, Jane, Janice and Cheryl and their spouses. Multiple Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren, and Neices, and Nephews.
LaVena was married to Otto J Snay. Together they raised nine children to know the Lord and to be respectful of their elders. LaVena was a woman who touched many children's lives by taking them into her and Otto's home. No One was ever hungry, no one went without shoes, no one ever had to find a place to lay their heads as Mother and Father made sure of that. LaVena was one of a kind. Otto and her were placed together by God the Father.
LaVena went to school in Dunlap, Iowa at Dunlap community High School she graduated in 1949. Although she had lost quite a bit of her memory she loved talking about the class picture and the friends she once had. LaVena worked all her life to support her family. While her husband was overseas she worked at Western Electric, Campbells Soup, and she even worked as an assistant to Dr. Green in Omaha, Nebraska.
The one thing that those who knew God was #1 in her life. She was a faithful Member of Chandler Acres Baptist Church for many years in Bellevue, Nebraska. While living in Washington State she remained a member of First Baptist Church in Port Orchard, Washington until her homegoing. LaVena was an Angel on earth and so was her faithful husband Otto. They once again are holding hands as they loved to do here on earth. We their children are hurting inside but Mom and Dad told us and I quote "put God first in our life's and we shall have no worries" I know they are playing darts, bowling, mom doing crossword puzzles while dad chops up the heavenly newspaper.
We the children of Mother Snay say thank you for your unconditional love until we meet again
