Lavern Borah

September 25, 1921 — October 19, 1999

Lavern Allen Borah, 78, died at his home in Port Orchard on October 19, 1999.  He was born September 25, 1921 in Mt. Ida, Wisconsin to Samuel Virgil & Caroline (Allen) Borah.  Lavern was raised in Redstone, Montana and graduated from Scobey High School in Scobey, Montana in 1938.  He attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.  Lavern married Georgette M. Fievet in Belgium on December 19, 1944.Mr. Borah worked as an Automotive Mechanic at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1981.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 receiving numerous medals including the American Campaign, European/African/Middle Eastern; World War II Victory, and good conduct medal.  Lavern was the Past Master of Masonic Lodge #206 in Bremerton and Honorary Past Master of Lodge #98 in Port Orchard.  He was a member of Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, and was a Shriner in Al Aska.Surviving are his wife; sons Jim & Dan Borah of Tacoma; daughter Lillian Crawford of Bremerton; and 6 grandchildren.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 1999 at 1:00 pm at the Bremerton Masonic Lodge #206, 878 5th Street in Bremerton.  Inurnment will be at Mt. Ida Baptist Chuch Cemetery in Mt. Ida, Wisconsin.
