LaVina Susan "Toots" Rusk, 87, of Port Orchard died Monday at Harrison Hospital from complications of pneumonia. She was born in Yakima to Earl and Eva (Lawrence) Manning. She graduated form Yakima High School. On July 16, 1940, she married Leo Rusk in Langley, Washington. He preceded in her in death in 1988. Mrs. Rusk worked as a bartender at the High Tides Tavern in Annapolis for 26 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid camper. Survivors include a son, Clifford "Skipper" Rusk of Issaquah; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rusk was preceded in death by her son, Frank Rusk and her grandson, Brian Rusk. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Interment will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton.
