Lavon Bame

Mr. LaVon ''Walt'' Bame died of natural causes on July 27, 2001 in Port Orchard, Washington. He had been born on March 12, 1928 to Myrtle C.(Spragg) and Mr. Bame in Langley, Washington.''Walt'' attended South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard. He served in the United States Army from 1949 until his Honorable discharge in 1951. He worked as a Sheetmetal Mechanic at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington for thirty one years, retiring in 1986.Mr. Bame enjoyed fishing and the company of his family.He is survived by sons, Walter Bame of Graybull, Wyoming; Richard Conrad of Port Orchard; daughters, Annette Peebles of Hermitage, Arizona; Barbara Pusateri of Port Orchard; Melva Conrad of Port Orchard; sister, Betty Hendrickson of Grayland, Washington; and thirteen grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Spragg in 1999.A memorial service in Mr. Bame's honor will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2001, at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Pastor Keith Foster will be officiating. A reception will follow at the family residence.The family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Parkinsons Foundation.Arrangements are under the direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory.
