Lawrence King

July 10, 1941 — December 8, 2003

Lawrence "Larry" Junior King of Sandpoint, Idaho died December 8, 2003 in Seattle, Washington following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 62. He was born July 10, 1941 in Sandpoint, Idaho to Lawrence W. and Myrle Virginia (Millin) King; and, was raised in Port Orchard, Washington. He married Freda M. (French) May 12, 2003 in Bremerton, Washington. Lawrence attended South Kitsap Senior High School in Port Orchard, Washington. He attained a GED. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962 - attaining rank of E-5. He enlisted at age 16. Lawrence was an entrepeneur owning several automotive related businesses in Alameda, California. He moved from Alameda, California to Sandpoint, Idaho in 1989 and opened King's Logging and Towing while still maintaining a second home here in Port Orchard next door to the home he grew up in. Larry was preceded in death by his father Lawrence King in 1975. He is survived by his partner of 25 years who became his wife five short months ago, Freda King, of Sandpoint, Idaho; mother - Virginia King of Bremerton, Washington; sons - Scott King of Texas; Michael White (& wife, Gianna) of Cameron Park, California; daughter - Amber King of Santa Maria, California; Alice King of Santa Maria, California; step-daughter -Jera of Wodehouse (& husband, James) of Alameda, California; Kristie Brouhard and Brandi Huft (of Post Falls, Idaho) and 13 grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings: Richard King (& wife, Connie) of Port Orchard, Washington; Alma Singleton of Bremerton, Washington; Thomas King (& wife, Lynda) of Arnold, California and Paul King (& wife, Pamela) of Bremerton, Washington. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Larry was known by by his family and many friends as the "life of the party" and the one who could keep things exciting. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A visitation was held noon to 5:00 p.m. on December 12, 2003 at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. on December 13, 2003 at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center. Memorial Donations may be made to: Toys for Tots He enjoyed gambling and cars.
