Leland S. Moore, age 70, died April 21, 2000 in Bremerton, WA. He was born Sept. 9, 1929 in Renton, WA to Lester and Rana (House) Moore. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, WA in 1947. He married Dorothy (Rickard) Moore in Bremerton, WA on Nov. 24, 1961. Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Airforce for 4 years as an airman/radar technician. Most recently he worked as a switchman with Pacific Northwest Bell for 30 years before retiring in 1985. Mr. Moore played for 30+ years with the Bremerton Fastpitch City League, was president for 8 years of the Kitsaps Oldtimers Association, he was elected to the Hall of Fame for the Kitsap Oldtimers in 1991 and was also a member of the Gold Mountain Men's Club.He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Belfair, WA., son Thomas Moore of Belfair, WA., daughters Cindy Anderson of Belfair, WA., Wendy Moore of Silverdale, WA., Kimberly Orlob of Belfair, WA., brothers Marvin Moore of Port Orchard, WA., Jim Moore of Tacoma, WA., stepbrother Jack Hocchaus of Vancouver, WA., sisters Hilda Figgins of Lynwood, WA., Phyllis Wilson of Idaho, grandchildren Olof, Abel and Luke Anderson of Allyn, WA., Austin Moore of Silverdale, WA., Justin, Shileah and Savannah Orlob of Belfair, WA. He is preceded in death by brothers Dale and Everett Moore.Visitation will be at Rill Chapel, April 25 from 9:00a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Rill Chapel April 26 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Lane Cemetery.
