Lenora (Carlson) Larson

January 29, 1916 — August 19, 2011

Alice passed away on August 19, 2011 due to complications from a fall. Alice was born January 29, 1916 in Chicago to Silas and Lenora Whitmore. She was two when the family moved to Port Orchard. She married Roy Carlson in 1935. She and Roy had a dairy farm and for some time did home milk delivery. Always a hard worker, Alice was known for her great vegetable and flower gardens, and for her cooking skills. She was especially well known for her pies. Roy passed away in 1992. Alice enjoyed playing cards, dancing, crocheting, organizing class reunions and potluck dance parties, and having family events and gatherings. In 1996, she married a former classmate, Wally Larson. She and Wally enjoyed traveling and many special times sharing their Palm Springs home with family and friends. Wally passed away in 2005. Alice is survived by her three daughters, Arlene Carlson and friend Curt Ebel, Suzanne (Larry) Boltz, and Jeanne Howe and friend Mike Kelley, and one son, Bill (Cherie) Carlson. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great, grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Please join her family at a memorial service and reception on Saturday, September 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Following the service, join the family in a Celebration of Alice's  life at Jeanne and Mike Kelley's home at 5:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Sound Vista Village Assisted Living, Clare Bridge of Gig Harbor, and Franciscan Hospice House for their care of Alice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
