Leona Roberts

April 22, 1907 — February 26, 2005

Leona V. Wright Roberts, of Belmont Terrace, Bremerton died February 26, 2005. She was 97. She resided in Port Orchard, Washington before residing at Belmont Terrace. She and her husband Oral lived in Marysville, West Seattle and had an 80 acre strawberry farm. They moved to Bremerton in 1950; and, moved to Manchester after building their home. After Oral's death Leona sold her home and moved to Silverdale. She was born in Oronogo, Missouri April 22, 1907 to Covy V. and Sophia (Sutton) Wright. Leona married Oral Roberts in Pittsburg, Kansas May 21, 1945. She graduated from high school in Missouri. Leona worked many years for the J.C. Penney Company in Pittsburg, Kansas before transferring to Seattle, Washington. She worked as an invoice clerk and retired from the Seattle store. Total years worked were approximately 50. Leona was a life-time member of: The Order of Eastern Star, Rob Morris Chapter No. 74 in Pittsburg, Kansas; Crystal Rebekah Lodge No. 58 of Altamont, Kansas; and NARFE Chapter #181. Leona was a home maker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, dinner parties, and entertaining friends. She loved to set a beautiful table with all her nice china and crystal. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bremerton. Leona was preceded in death by: parents, husband, brother Roy V. Wright and his wife Edith, sister Ceola West and her husband. Leona was the last of her family. There are no other survivors.
