Leona Rose Vaughn, 77, died at her residence in Port Orchard, Washington on March 3, 2006. She was born on September 6, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Leon & Theresa (Slezinski) Koss. Leona married Billy Ray Vaughn on November 27, 1952 in Detroit. He preceded her in death in 2004. Leona worked as a Receiving Inspector for more than 20 years with Burroughs Corporation which later became Unisys Corporation. She retired in 1989 from Westlake Village in California. She loved reading, crocheting, playing bingo, hand held solitaire, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Because of her faith in Jesus Christ, Leona loved attending Manchester Community Church with her family. It gave her great joy knowing all her children have trusted in Jesus Christ as their own Savior. Surviving are sons Tim (Mindy) Vaughn of Henderson, Nevada and Lorin (Brooke) Vaughn of Port Orchard; daughters Deby (Jim) Long of Puyallup, Washington, Trudy (Vince) Guza of Rome, New York, Susan (Greg) Ayala of Port Orchard, and Lisa (Ken) Banks of Port Orchard; 18 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son William Vaughn on January 22, 2006. Graveside service at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard on March 9, 2006 with David Eddy, Jr. officiating.
