Leonard Sabatella

September 25, 1948 — June 4, 2011

Leonard Victor Sabatella, 62, died June 4, 2011 at his home in Port Orchard.  He was born September 25, 1948 in Brooklyn NY to Louis & Catherine (Guardino) Sabatella.  He married Dawn Block on June 4, 2006 in Gig Harbor, WA. Leonard worked for 40 years in automotive sales & repair and was currently employed at Parr Ford in Bremerton where he won numerous sales awards.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.    Lenny loved collecting and selling Lionel Trains.  He traveled around the east coast working at train shows.  He loved his dogs “Roxie, “Rosie” & “Armani”.  Lenny met Dawn in June 2002 and they fell in love instantly.  He moved from New York to Washington state after a year long cross country relationship.  He was so passionate about everything he did in life.  His family was always the first thing on his mind in every decision he made.  He loved all nine of our children with all of his heart and soul.  We will never get over the huge loss of this larger than life man, but we will go on, always remembering he would not want us to waste a minute and never forget to hug your babies tight every night.  You are not promised tomorrow.  We love you Daddy!    Surviving are wife Dawn; sons Leonard (Kristine) of Yonkers NY, Anthony & Thomas Sabatella & Michael James Jr, all of Port Orchard; daughters Lenore Dulce of Island Park NY, Talia Sabatella of Kings Park NY, Jessica & Karalee James, & Isabelle Sabatella, all of Port Orchard; brothers Frank (Pat) Sabatella of Bethpage NY & Robert (Lisa) Sabatella of FL, sister Kathy (Manny) Dionysiou of Valley Stream NY; grandchildren Michael & Noelle Heffernan.  Funeral Service 11:00 am on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard with burial following at 2:00 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
