Leonardo Umali Carson, 63 Port Orchard, Washington died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on August 24, 2006. He was born on February 4, 1943 in Cuenca, Batangas City in the Philippine Islands to Stanislavo & Victoria (Umali) Carson. He graduated from high school in Batangas City and married Gertrude Villano on April 16, 1971 in Manitoba, Canada. Leonardo served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1986, retiring as an E6 after 23 years as a Mess Management Specialist. He was a very active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lancaster, California where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Minister of Choir, etc. He was 4th degree Knights of Columbus and a volunteer at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center. Leonardo enjoyed Karaoke and was Englebert Humperdinck's biggest fan! He loved buffet restaurants, pretending to exercise, and fishing. Leonardo had a green thumb and liked vegetable gardening. Surviving are his wife Gertrude; sons Stanley (Daisy) Carson of Port Orchard and Leonard (Grace) Carson of San Diego, California; brother Arturo Carson of Batangas City, Philippines; sisters Alicia Carson of Batangas City, Leonora Carson of Angeles City, Philippines, Teresita (Leo) Quito of Stockton, California, Helen Umali of Carson, California, and Nenita Carson of Batangas City; and grandchildren Melanie & Jasmine Carson. Visitation will be Monday, August 28, 2006 from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Rills Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard and Tuesday, August 29, 2006 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard with Rosary at 9:30am and Funeral Mass following at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
