Leonida Casila Cabalo passed away on February 11, 2024 at the Avamere Rehabilitation at Ridgemont in Port Orchard, WA. She was 95 years old.
Leonida was born to Segundo and Maria Casila, on November 20, 1928 in Santa Maria, Philippine Islands. She spent her childhood, attended school and worked as a hairdresser in the Philippine Islands.
On November 17, 1964, she married Nick Cabalo in Rosales Pangasinan, Philippine Islands and shortly after their marriage she joined Nick in the United States.
Leonida retired from Oyster Bay Nursing Care Center. Nevertheless, continuing to work on the family farm in Port Orchard. Growing a variety of berries and vegetables, selling to the local markets.
Leonida, or “Mimi” to her granddaughters, enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones, gardening, singing in the church choir, dancing, going to the beach, playing cards and, cooking for celebrations and gatherings. In her later years, Leonida enjoyed social casino outings with friends.
Leonida was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; parents, Segundo and Maria; brothers Vicente, Rufino, and Ponciano Casila and sisters Nenita Cabang, Lourdes Gadong and Lolita Casila.
Leonida is survived by her daughter Jessie (Mike) Wadsworth and granddaughters Ashley and Reese; brother Antonio and his wife Sampaquita as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
