Leslie A. Johnson, Jr., 86 of Port Orchard Passed away at his home on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
He was born in Tacoma to Leslie A. Johnson, Sr., and Lucile E., Johnson. He lived on Fox Island as a child, then moved to Tacoma where he met and married the Love of his life, Betty J. Prengel in June, 1952. They were married 59 years and are together again after Betty’s passing in December, 2011.
Les became a Journeyman Carpenter, building their home in Tacoma to raise their family, until 1966 when they moved to Port Orchard. Les was a co-founder of Peninsula Glass where he worked as a glazier until retirement in 1994. Never done, he worked from his basement shop as “the Glass Man”.
He was a craftsman wood worker, Glass master, liked boats and cars. Most of all, the Love of his life was his family.
Les has 3 sons, Jeff A. Johnson (Lori), Rick R. Johnson (Sue), and Tim L. Johnson, all of Port Orchard, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. His brother, Phil Johnson, sisters Lorene Amos and Joan Morris preceded him in death.
A celebration of life is planned for 11:00 am, Thursday, March 8 at Rill Chapel, 1151 Mitchell Avenue in Port Orchard.
