Leslie Bettle

Leslie Read Piercy Bettle went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 10, 2003 after a battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Los Angeles, California on June 8, 1955 to Geneva and Rex Read and raised in the San Gabriel Valley. She married Richard Piercy in 1974 who preceded her in death in 1994. She married Christie Bettle in 1995. Leslie was a loving daughter, mother, and wife. She was known for her quick wit and loving heart. She enjoyed family, friends, training dogs and singing in the Praise Band at Christ the Rock Community Church. Survivors include her husband, Christie of Port Orchard, Washington, her mother Geneva Read of Rogue River, Oregon, her daughter and son in law Jessica and Mark Melvin of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, son and daughter in law Brian and Elizabeth Piercy, and her only grandchild, Annalee Joy Piercy of Bangor, Washington, son Jeff Piercy of Port Orchard, WA. She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Beach Read. A Memorial Service will be held Firday at 1 PM at Christ the Rock Community Church. In lieu of Flowers the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Music Ministry at Christ the Rock Community Church in Port Orchard, Washington.
