Les Harper was born in Bremerton, WA on June 17, 1949 to Robert Lee Roy & Violette Alice Harper. He loved sports, especially basketball & football. He played basketball on Bremerton City League as young adult. He played center position despite his being short. He coached a boys team later in life. He was in weight lifter's club during high school & also sang in Men’s Glee Club. As a high school senior Les was voted best dancer! At age 17 he began working at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He worked there for 40 years starting as a Pipefitter & ended being a Logistics Manager. Les retired in April, 2007. He was the hardest working man most people ever knew. When not at the shipyard, Les loved to work at landscaping his property, fixing things to make them work again & chopping wood. At age 67 he continued to split 4-5 cords of wood each summer. He enjoyed church & church activities. He prayed for friends & family. Les was survived by his wife, Roxanne Harper, his children: Joshua Harper, Jacob Harper, Alisha Harper & granddaughter Lillian Harper, his brothers, Duane Blowers, Leonard Blowers & Robbin Harper, & also his sister, Shirley Gallauher all of Port Orchard, WA.
