Leslie Norene Jones

October 8, 1942 — June 16, 2016

Leslie Jones of Port Orchard passed into the arms of her loving Savior June 16, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born October 8, 1942 in Bremerton, Washington to Norman and Marie (Teitzel) Whitcomb.
Leslie grew up in Manchester, Washington, attended South Kitsap schools, graduating from South Kitsap High School, class of 1960. After high school Leslie worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until she met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Jones. Leslie and Bob shared 52 years of marriage.
As a teen Leslie met her Savior Jesus Christ whom she served in just about any way she was able. Leslie worked as a church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and helped bring the Awana club to her church.
One of her life’s highlight was being asked by State Senator Bob Oke to be his campaign manager in his bid for the House of Representatives. Leslie counted Bob and Judy Oke among her many friends, so she was proud to help in Bob Oke’s election. Leslie also enjoyed reading, camping, playing the organ, and traveling.
