Leslie L. Mears, 50 of Bremerton, died December 9, 1999.  He was born in Yakima, Washington on March 25, 1949 to Lawrence & Charlene (Barnes) Mears.  He was raised in Moxee, Washington graduating from East Valley High School.  Mr. Mears worked as a Lagger at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.  As a child he worked in the hops fields in the Yakima Valley.  He served in both the U. S. Army and U. S. Marines from 1967 to 1974 as a Helicopter Mechanic.Surviving are his mother Charlene Dybdahl of Bremerton; brother Larry Mears of Bremerton; sisters Elsie Hall of Bremerton and Darlene McDonald of Ogden, Utah.  He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Mears in 1969 and his stepfather Louie Dybdahl in 1997.There will be an Open House celebrating Les' life at the residence of Elsie Hall, 2343 Trenton Avenue, Bremerton, WA on Saturday December 18, 1999 from 1 to 5pm.  Inurnment will be 11:30am Saturday, March 25, 2000 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima, Washington.  Memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 2315 Burwell, Bremerton, WA 98312.
