Lillian Nickerson

Lillian D. Nickerson, 81, beloved wife of Russell Nickerson of Bremerton, died on April 7, 2006 after a brief illness. She was born on October 29, 1924 in Quincy, Massachusetts to Arthur & Eva (Laitinen) McCarthy. She wed Russell and followed him to Washington state where they lived happily. Russell passed away on August 26, 1998 and she now follows to be with him once more. They leave behind a son Roger Nickerson of Port Orchard; daughters Doris Nickerson of Castle Creek, New York and Karyn Sandstrom of Bremerton; grandchildren Roger Michael Nickerson, Al Clark, Cheryl Nickerson, Andrew Nickerson, and CJ & Amber Sandstrom; and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom were loved very much. She is also survived by a cousin Claire Herminson Avery of Winterhaven, Florida. Public viewing Wednesday, April 12, 2006 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Graveside service on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Sunset Lane Memorial Park, also in Port Orchard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the "Pet Fund" at Forest Ridge Rehabilitation Center, 140 South Marion Avenue, Bremerton, WA 98312. "Her love of animals was always a comfort to her."
