Mrs. Lily M. Carter, Age:46, resident of Port Orchard, Washington, died on January 4, 2002.Lily was born on February 16, 1955 in Everett, Washington to Frank and Margaret(Branch)Thomas Sr.. She was raised in Snohomish County, Washington.On August 6, 1988, Lily married Nick Carter in Bremerton, Washington. She spent her career as a Homemaker. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader, and was the Ombudsman for the U.S.S. Sacramento from 1996-1999.Lily is survived by her husband, Nick, of the family home; her mother, Margaret, and Step-father, L.W. Mooneyham of Port Orchard; daughter, Caroline and husband, John Douglass of Jacksonville, North Carolina; daughter, Ruth and husband, James Boggs of Racine, Wisconsin; brother, Frank C. Thomas Jr., of Seattle, Washington; sisters, Peggy A. Whitaker of Arizona; Carrie Lynn Crawley of Richmond, Virginia; Martha and June Thomas of Port Orchard; step-sister, Tina Kennedy of Bremerton, Washington; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.A memorial service in Lily's honor will be held at Port Orchard Eagles from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., on Sunday, January 13, 2002. The family has asked that any memorial contributions be made to "Special Olympics".All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory.
