Lily May Leach of Port Orchard, Washington died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on June 13, 2004 in Port Orchard. She was 90. She was born October 29, 1913 in Birmingham, England to William R. and Lenoria J. (Pirie) Woods. She married Kenneth Leach in Port Orchard, Washington in December of 1968. Lily graduated from St. Joseph's School in Birmingham, England in 1929. During World War II she worked in a munitions facotory in England for 5 years. She also did clerical work for many years. Lily was a wonderful wood carver; enjoyed painting (favorite medium was oil), dressmaking and writing and reading poetry. Lily is survived by daughter - Rita M. Bernardo (& husband, Leonard) of Port Orchard; sister - Eva Woods of Birmingham, England; 4 grandchildren: Linda Brown (& husband, Howard) of Port Orchard, Joanne Bernardo of Port Orchard, Leonard Bernardo, Jr. (& wife, Tracey) of Kirkland, Washington, John Bernardo of Redondo Beach, California; 4 great-grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Ian and Sydney. A Celebration Service will be held June 18, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington. Inurnment will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington on June 21, 2004 at 3:00 p.m.
