Linda Gay Medaris Midkiff, age 82, of Olalla, Washington joined family members in heaven June 11, 2022. Her last days were spent at home surrounded by love, family and many memories. Linda was born November 18, 1939 in Yakima, Washington to Russell and Gwenevire Medaris. She met the love of her life Edward (Ed) Midkiff 28-years-ago and he was a constant source of care for her in later years.
A Pacific Northwest native and an accomplished artist. She leaves a legacy of art for over 60-years which included still life, landscapes, wildlife and surrealism. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, cooking, photography and traveling. Linda was an avid animal lover of her dogs, cats, Siberian huskies and chickens. We will miss her intelligence, wittiness and loyalty to her family and friends. She was a strong matriarch of our family and instilled many of her values in us.
She was a lifetime member and former leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She also shared a strong tie to the Native American practices of her husband Ed. They were both very active in the Mormon church and tribal activities and events.
Preceded in death by her parents, Rusty and Gwen and brother David Medaris. Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Midkiff; daughter Kimberly Sue and son-in-law, Galip Yurtsever; daughter Michelle and son-in-law Larry Barnes; son Richard Scott and daughter-in-law, Tammy Mooney; five grandchildren, Janice Bradley, Melody Sierra, Benjamin Morgan, Kyle Mooney and Bryce Mooney; six great-grandchildren Jay Bradley, Zion Bradley, Haley Bradley, Chance Morgan, Noah Sierra and Carley Sierra; step-children and grandchildren and many friends.
