Linda J Tweit was born March 5, 1948 in Valley City, ND to Edna and Johnny Twidt. She spent her childhood on a farm near Kathryn, ND, attended school in Hastings, ND and then attended Litchville, ND after the school in Hastings closed. Linda was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran church.
Linda worked as custodian in multiple schools with a majority of her career spent as Head Honcho (custodian) at Mullenix Ridge Elementary. She was an amazing mother of 3 wonderful children who even made it to adulthood. She maintained a marriage for 49 years and also maintained many wonderful friendships. Linda was an accomplished do-it-yourselfer and avid gardener.
Linda was a member of the Silver Sneakers and Seahawks fan club (go Hawks!). She was also a member of the Best-Wife-Mom-Sister-Aunt-Friend-Ever club (even though she would disagree).
Some of Linda’s fondest memories were of her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments, photos of loved one’s travels and personal travels and adventures.
A few of her favorite family activities were playing basketball growing up, camping, being soccer mom/grandma and cooking.
Linda’s personal activities and hobbies included gardening, computer games, ceramics, macramé and quilting. Some of her favorite places to spend time were her Saturday coffee dates with her children, weekend phone calls with her siblings, Monday card playing dates with the neighbors (although she never actually let anyone else win), traveling, adventure and the church (casino) .
Some of her favorites are the color purple, Lilacs, Roses, Irises, Cali lilies, Peonies, hummingbirds, roosters, holiday décor (a plethora of holiday décor) and her tea pot collection.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Edna and Johnny Twidt, her sister Shirley Zurn, husband Mark Tweit and son Scott Tweit.
Linda is survived in death by her siblings Elaine Englin, LeRoy Twidt, Sharon (Ed) Pederson and Burnell Twidt. Her children Samuel Tweit and Leslie Tweit. Her grandchildren Brittany Tweit, Justin Herrera and Jocelyn Tweit. Daughter-in-law Sherelonn (Scott) Tweit.
Some of Linda’s favorite songs were “Seasons in the Sun”, “My Way”, “Is This All There Is” and “Jack and Diane”. Linda has always been known as determined, strong, “The Rock” (we are the pebbles), fun loving, witty (crazy witty) and adventurous.
