The daughter of Audrey N. Haynes and William Henry Collings, Lois was born on December 6, 1921 in Lucerne, Wyoming. She passed away on September 18, 2008 at the Roo-Lan Healthcare Center in Lacey, Washington. She, her brother, Robert, and their parents lived in California, then moved to Washington, first in Forks, to her grandparents homestead, and finally settling in Manchester, Washington. On January 5, 1942, she married Albert Bieber in Olympia, Washington. They lived on Tacoma Street in Port Orchard, Washington from 1952 to 1979, although in different houses. Lois was a homemaker and beautician. In 1979 they moved to Dogwood Hill in Port Orchard. After Albert’s death in 1991, Lois moved to Elma, Washington, near her youngest daughter, Wendy. There she was quite active in the Elma Senior Center and spent many joyous hours playing pinochle with dear friends. She also loved watching flocks of wild birds feast at her bird feeder and could name them one and all, except for that small bird with the white head. Lois was predeceased by her husband and daughter, Marilee Fricke. She is survived by her children Marla Bieber, Alayne Goodhart, David Bieber, Wendy Richmond, thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grand children: all love her dearly and will miss her terribly. The Memorial Service will be held at the United Methodist Church, 502 W. Young St. Elma, Washington, Monday, September 22nd at 11:00 am. A reception will follow. Any contributions in her memory may be made to the Elma Senior Center Building Fund.
