Lois I. Schoengart (Mickelson) was born June 3, 1917 and died July 9, 2002. Lois was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She and her sister Grace were raised in Minneapolis and lived with their Grandma Bergstrom. Lois met Ed Schoengart in May of 1935 while working at Lee Overalls. They married November 1935. Their first son John was born in 1941. In 1942 they moved to Marin City, California. Ed worked for Mare Island Shipyard for three years. While living in California their second son Michael was born in 1944.In 1946 they moved to Washington and Ed worked in the shipyard as a painter for 23 years. While Ed worked, Lois was a mother and homemaker. Lois was involved in the Sunnyslope Community and activities. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo. She lived in Sunnyslope until Ed passed away in 1990. She then moved to the Bremerton area. Lois had been living at Belmont Terrace for the last three years. Lois' sister, Grace Reiswig passed away in May of this year.Lois is survived by her sons John (and wife Sue) of Bremerton and Michael (and wife Shirley) of California; three grandsons: Tony of Bremerton, Michael of Maryland, Jeremy of California; and nieces and nephews.She was a former member of the Sunnyslope Community Club and Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bremerton.Services will be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington Saturday July 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, Washington.Memorial Donations may be made to:Seventh Day Adventist Church4949 N.W.
