Lonni Diane Zwan

May 18, 1964 — November 7, 2014

Lonni Diane Zwan, 50, of Belfair, WA was tragically taken from us on November 7, 2014. She passed away in the arms of her loved ones at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on November 5, 2014.

She was born on May 18, 1964 in Galion, OH to her loving parents Lanny & Diana Zwan. She grew up as a country girl in Kitsap County showing horses, gardening, canning and spending time with her family. She graduated from Olympic College with a degree in accounting and proudly worked for the Department of the Navy as a Program Analyst. A couple years ago, she was an amazing inspiration of courage and strength when she won her battle with breast cancer.

Lonni worked hard to earn everything in her life, from raising three children, obtaining her college degree, buying her first house and most recently purchasing her dream car, a tricked out rally green 2014 Ford Mustang.

She is survived by her fiancé, Dave Di Matteo, of Belfair, WA; her daughter Brandy Orsborn of Tacoma, WA; her son Jeremy Orsborn (Cat) of Austin, TX and her youngest son Steven Orsborn of Belfair, WA; her granddaughter, Miya Orsborn of Austin, TX; her parents Lanny and Diana Zwan of Belfair, WA; her sister Laura Els (Stephen) of Belfair, WA; her brother Chris Zwan (Krista) of Belfair, WA; her nieces Crystal Mannila (Stephen) of San Diego, CA; Anjuli Zwan-Gutierrez (Luis) of Allyn, WA; Brooke Els of Belfair, WA and Niki of Belfair, WA; her grandmother Ruby Bennett of Belfair, WA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother Gregory Howard Zwan; her grandfathers Howard Ervin Bennett and Emil John Zwan; her grandmother Alice Laura Zwan; her aunt Emily Rouse and her beloved horse, Cricket.

There will be two services, one will be a casual celebration of life (aka "a wake") and the other will be a more somber, formal funeral mass followed by a reception. Later there will be an escorted procession to the cemetery for a private graveside service.

Her wake will be held on Thursday, November 13, from 6-8pm at the Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center at 1151 Mitchell Ave. Port Orchard, WA. This will be the casual Celebration of Life. Mom loved Seahawks (especially the Seahawks green - it matched her mustang), sunflowers (any flowers actually), gardening and butterflies....and most importantly her family, especially Dave and her kids. You are welcome to wear anything that makes you feel closer to Lonni, especially any Seahawks gear (no Steelers or 49ers gear please). Please feel free to bring any pictures, momentos, Seahawk flags, etc that you would like to display and share. Refreshments will be provided.

Her funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 14, at 11am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 1171 NE Sand Hill Rd. Belfair, WA. This will be the formal, more somber service. There will be a reception immediately afterwards. After the reception, the family will be escorted in a procession to the Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard for a private graveside service.

“She stood in the storm, and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails.”
