Lorayne Schroder

Lorayne Schroder, 78, of Port Orchard, Washington, died August 22, 2001 at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard. She was born on September 7, 1922 in Spokane, Washington, to Helen and Ray Sartain. She graduated from high school in Grand Coulee, Washington.Lorayne married Carl Schroder in Tacoma, Washington in 1941. They made their residence in Port Orchard.Mrs. Schroder was a Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) until her retirement from Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington in 1975.She was a member of Port Orchard United Methodist Church, and Mystic Rebekah Lodge #168.Survivors include her son, Richard and his wife Wanda of Belfair, Washington; a daughter, Karen of Shoreline, Washington; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.Lorayne was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many people of all ages, both in and outside of Kitsap County. A celebration of her life will be held at Rill Chapel, 1151 Mitchell Avenue, Port Orchard, on Wednesday, August 29th, at 2 p.m..In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association by calling (800)232-3472.
