Lorena “Lynn” Bittleston, age 72, died December 22, 2010 in Portland, OR. She was born August 15, 1938 in Flora, IL to Dutch and Mable Bradshaw.
Lynn graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, WY. She then graduated from Casper Community College and taught 2nd-5th grades. Lynn went on to graduate from the University of Wyoming and continued teaching.
Lynn moved with her family to Portland, OR, in 1967. She earned her master’s degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. She taught at Alice Ott Middle School from 1977-1997 before retiring.
Lynn enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandchildren, especially watching them participate in their various activities. She also enjoyed reading, painting ceramics and tending her roses.
Lynn will be loved and remembered for her contagious laugh especially by longtime friends, Mary Jo Fannin of Portland, OR, Sue Weis of Los Angeles, CA, Kitty Parks of King City, OR; daughters Camela Shoop of Sandy, OR, Andrea (Eric) Doerfler of Battleground, WA., and Lori (David) Rill of Port Orchard, WA; grandchildren Haley, Malea, Tessa, Tanner, Sarah, Josh, Mackenzie, and Ellie; sister Marjorie Anderson; niece Barb; and numerous extended relatives.
A gathering honoring her life will be held on January 7, 2010, 4:00PM, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W Powell Blvd., Gresham, OR, 97030.
