Loretto Stedman

Loretto Carmen Stedman passed away on November 2, 2007 at Odyssey Hospice in Mesa, Arizona. She died of congestive heart failure. She was born on February 1, 1930 in Seattle to Jack and Carmen Carroll. She moved with her parents to Manchester when she was 12 years old and graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1948. On February 19, 1955, Loretto married Les Stedman at St. James Cathedral in Seattle. They bought a house in Manchester in 1955 and moved to another place in Manchester in 1964 where they lived until 1999 when they sold. Loretto was active in the Bremerton Community Theatre, acting in and directing many shows. She enjoyed traveling, having traveled over most of the US and also in Europe. She also enjoyed traveling in their travel trailer which they lived in during the summer for the past 8 years. She and Les lived in their park model during the fall and winter months in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Loretto and Les owned a boat most of their married life, the last one was a 40 foot power boat which they cruised in the Washington and Canadian waters as far north as the north end of Vancouver Island. Loretto and Les are members of the Port Orchard Yacht Club and the Escapees. Loretto is survived by her husband Les; sister Mary Ann Gilmore (Leonard) of Port Orchard; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Jackie Norris. Celebration of Life at 9:30am on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Interment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park also in Port Orchard.
