Lorraine Agnes (Allgaier) MacPherson passed from this life on May 18, 2008, with her older son at her side. Lorraine was born September 25, 1925, in Spokane, WA, to Leonard and Lyda (Sanger) Allgaier. Lorraine met Francis ("Mac"), her husband of 62 years, in Port Townsend. After they married in 1945, Lorraine and Mac moved to Port Orchard, WA, to raise their family. Lorraine was known as a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She was always there to help a friend, neighbor or acquaintance. If there had been car pool moms in the 1950s-60s, that would have been Lorraine. Back then it was "giving the kids a ride", whether it was to a game, roller skating, camping, or out to the canal for the day. She was always there for her family. Lorraine was a member of the Kitsap Homemakers, Girl Scout leader, helped with Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Job's Daughters, anything her family was interested in was important to her. In addition to enjoying her family and friends, Lorraine liked to sew, read, do any type of needlework, and look for rocks and shells. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Mac; brothers, Dwight and Joe Allgaier; and son-in-law, J.D. LaRoza. She is survived by her sons: Ray of Tacoma, WA, and Gary of LaHabra, CA; daughters: Susan LaRoza of Silverdale, WA, and Mary of Alexandria, VA; sisters Lila Ackerman, of Spokane, WA, and Bessie Mowatt, of Portland, OR; brother Les Allgaier, of Kennewick, WA; six grandchildren, six (the seventh any minute now) great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2008, at Rill's Life Tribute Center, Port Orchard, WA. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Lane Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
