Louis E. Reaves, 73 passed away peacefully on June 16, 2014. He was born in Eastaboga Alabama on November 7, 1940 to Raymond and Maggie Reaves. He graduated from Winterboro High School in Talladega, Alabama and went on to join the Navy in 1959. Lou spent 21 years serving his country and retired as a Master Chief. His time in the Navy was filled with close friends, family and wonderful memories as the family journeyed through Japan, Illinois, California, and Hawaii, eventually retiring from the Navy and moving to Port Orchard, Washington. Following his Navy career, Lou worked at Lockheed Shipyard in Seattle for 10 years and finally landed his dream job at Boeing and worked there for 24 years and was still hoping to return to work until the very end. At Boeing, he enjoyed the long lasting relationships he developed with his tightknit group of co-workers over those years.
While in the Navy, Lou met his beautiful wife Setsuko Nozawa in Sasebo, Japan and married her on October 29, 1964 and spent the next 49 years as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Lou’s priority was providing for his family and always put his family’s needs first. He was an amazing father and husband but his greatest joy are his four grandchildren. Always taking the time to be with them and letting them know how special each and everyone of them were. He was so proud of them and shared pictures, videos and stories with friends on a regular basis. Lou will be most remembered as a quiet selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maggie Reaves and is survived by wife Setsuko, children James(Michele) Reaves of Omaha, Nebraska, Patty (Jeff) Pruiett of Yakima, Washington, and grandchildren Devin, Dillon, Amelia and Jimmy as well as two older siblings, Walter Reaves and Liz Wells of Anniston, Alabama.
