Lourdes Almacen

Lourdes Arguelles Almacen, 91 of Port Orchard, passed away July 24, 2009.  She was born February 6, 1918 in Lipa City, Philippines to Floberto & Brigida (Roxas) Arguelles.  She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manilla, Philippines and the University of Washington in Seattle. Lourdes retired as a School Teacher in 1972, working as a Spanish Teacher for South Kitsap School District and an Elementary School Teacher for the Orting School District. Surviving are son Antonio (Lori) Almacen of Port Orchard; daughter Lourdes B. Dondiego of Silverdale; brother Antonio (Nieves) Arguelles of Philippines; sister Mercedes (Juanito) Sison of Seattle; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by husband Francisco. Visitation from 6:30 to 7:00pm followed by a Rosary at 7:30pm on Thursday, July 30th at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.  Funeral Mass at 2:00pm Friday, July 31st at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard followed by interment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
