Malachi Dewalt

August 26, 2001 — July 15, 2008

Malachi Leon DeWalt II, age 6 of Bremerton, died at Marybridge Childrens Hospital in Tacoma on July 15, 2008.  He was born August 26, 2001 in Silverdale to Malachi & Ja-Angel (Gaines) DeWalt.  He was in the 1st grade at View Ridge Elementary School in Bremerton and also attended Kindergarten and 1st grade at Burley Glenwood in Port Orchard. Malachi loved to play video games, playing with his sister, and hanging out with his cousins.  His favorite sport was football.  He played for East Bremerton Pee Wees & Warren Avenue Pee Wees.  He enjoyed school.  His favorite saying, according to his sister Diavionne, was "That's Sweet".  Malachi was a happy, energetic, friendly, loving son, brother, grandson & nephew. Surviving are his parents Malachi & Ja-Angel DeWalt of Bremerton; sister Diavionne DeWalt of Bremerton; grandparents J.D. & Althia (Money) Gaines and John & Flora (DeWalt) Stevenson, all of Port Orchard; uncles Malcolm DeWalt & Travier Stevenson of Bremerton, Lane Jones of Hawaii, Dustan Lawrence of Port Orchard; aunts Jessica Gaines & Antoinette DeWalt of Port Orchard, Angela DeWalt of Virginia, Aretha Jones of Hawaii; godparents Robert & Jane Stockton; and a host of cousins, friends, & loved ones.  He was preceded in death by aunt Nellie Hollis, cousin Dozier Kane DeWalt, grandpa Malcolm P. DeWalt, Jr., great-grandparents Matilda & Congress Money and Albert & Nellie Gaines; and several uncles & aunts. Visitation 3:00 to 5:00pm on Wednesday, July 23rd at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard with a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2008.  Interment following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park, also in Port Orchard.   Memorial donations may be made to any Bank of America to the Malachi DeWalt II Memorial Fund.
