Mansfield Bruce Ross, 84, of Allyn, Washington died January 21, 2005 at Ridgemont Terrace Care Center in Port Orchard, Washington. Bruce was born in Willmar, Minnesota on January 6, 1921 to Vane Viber and Carrie (Matthews) Ross. He graduated from Truesdale High School in Larrabee, Iowa in 1938. Bruce married Ellen (Weber) Ross in Pt. Jefferson, Ohio on April 25, 1944. Bruce served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Storekeeper. He worked for 20 years as a Retail Sales Manager with Woolworths in Gilroy, California. He owned and operated a Hallmark Greeting Card store in Watsonville, California retiring after 26 years. Bruce was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, and the North Mason United Methodist Church in Belfair. He enjoyed golf and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Ellen; son David Ross and his wife Marsha of Aurora, Illinois; daughter Carol Beard and husband Wallace of Belfair, Washington; grandchildren John & wife Yvette Ross, Briana & husband Joey Misener, Dan & wife Nicole Ross, Chrissy Ross, Shellie & husband K.J. Morris, Lacey & husband Brett Bergdahl; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at North Mason United Methodist Church in Belfair, Washington on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 1:00 pm. Viewing will take place 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Twin Firs Cemetery in Belfair. There will be a reception at the church after interment.
