Margaret Anne Blanchard

Margaret A. Blanchard, age 70, passed away on April 3rd, 2016, at her home in Sunnyslope surrounded by her family. She was born on September 4th, 1945 in Eye, Nr. Peterborough, England to George & Elsie (Dowsing) Rome and had eight brothers and sisters. She married Gary Blanchard 52 years ago on September 26, 1964 and has four children, Juliette Blanchard (of Seattle), Moira Bressi (Port Orchard), Robert Blanchard (Reno, NV) and Jeanette Blanchard (Port Orchard) and 10 grandchildren - Toneaka (Orange County, NJ), Eddie, Ashlea, Angelique, and Pharoah (of Tacoma, WA), Sharelle (Seattle), Anna and her husband Trevor (Chapel Hill, NC), Meghan, Justis and Jameston (Port Orchard, WA).
Margaret first came to the Washington in 1965 on the day of the big earthquake. The family moved to Gorst in 1974, and Margaret and Gary have been Kitsap County residents ever since. Margaret became a US Citizen in 1976 and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, knitting, crafts and her garden.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, George & Elsie (Dowsing) Rome, brothers Robert, Cyril, Mervyn and George and sisters Mary and Doris. Visitation will be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on April 11th from noon to 2 p.m., followed by private cremation services.
