Margaret J. Dyer

Margaret Janice Dyer (Matteson) was born August 29, 1940 in Ortinville, Minn. She passed away on July 9, 2016 from multiple organ failure at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, Wa. she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Piper Ann Lowery, Twin sister Muriel workman, Oldest sister Beverly Port, mother Muriel Collette (Matteson) and father Percy Matteson. She is survived by her only child Pegy Ann Lowery, Grandson Noah W. Lowery, son in law Brian s. Lowery, little sister Jackie Gilman, Brother in law William Workman, plus many nieces and nephews. Margaret retired from the Navel Hospital in Bremerton in 2004, after over 33 years of civilian service. She was a devoted mother to her only child Pegy Ann Lowery. They had a bond like no other, constantly talking throughout the day just to hear each others voice. Her love of the Lord was her foundation and on that foundation is how she raised her daughter. She was blessed with two grandchildren Piper Ann and Noah Wyatt Lowery. Her daughter Pegy married Brian S. Lowery in 1996. Margaret lived with them always and was so blessed to be there for her grandchildren. On January 16, 2016 her granddaughter Piper passed away from Influenza A H1N1 at the age of 12. Margaret struggled with heart problems since her stroke in 2010. In the last 3 months of her life she had been hospitalized 6 times. Margaret's hobbies were sewing, baking, gardening, raising Persian cats and cocker spaniels. She loved reading devotions and listening to gospel music. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Bethany Lutheran Church - marked for Pegy Lowery for Margaret Dyer's memorial fund. Services will be 4pm July 15th at Bethany Lutheran Church, 151 W. Tremont Ave, Port Orchard, WA 98366. A reception will follow.
