Margaret Mccamish

Margaret J. McCamish, 85, of Kitsap County, died November 15, 2002, at B's Country Adult Home in Manchester, WA. Margaret was born February 22, 1917, in St. Cloud, MN, to Carl John and Hazel (Teachout) Dam. She was raised in the Tri Cities and graduated from Richland High School in Richland, WA, in 1933. She later attended Business College in Spokane, WA.Margaret married Walter McCamish on September 10, 1938, in Richland. They lived in Burien, WA, from the 1950's to the 80's. Walter preceded her in death in 1985.Margaret was a devoted mother raising 4 sons and 1 daughter. She was an avid reader, a John Wayne buff, enjoyed gardening, and was active in local politics.She is survived by 4 sons, William "Duke" McCamish, of Joppa, MD, John McCamish, of Anchorage, AK, Kevin McCamish, of Gig Harbor, WA, and Keith McCamish, of Tukwila, WA; brother Norman Dam, of Greenville, SC; sister Geraldine Peebles, of Portland, OR; 7 grandchildren, Cindy McCamish, Anthony Parsons, Andrea DeCarlo, Chris McCamish, Jeffrey McCamish, Amy Eckhoff, and Karl Gucher; and 2 great grandchildren, Alexandra and Brandon DeCarlo.
