Margaret Miller

Margaret Jane Miller-Petersen was born in Union City, Ind. on July 20, 1929 and died in Bremerton, WA, on May 8, 2010 after a long illness. She was a long time resident of Kitsap County. She was 80 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Murray and Martha Burnett; her brother, Donald D. Murray Sr. and her beloved husband, Edwin Petersen. Margaret Jane is survived by her sister Alayne (Steve) Michels, three sons, Bob (Deb), Jim (Joannie), Ron (Patti), and her daughter Janelle Deisler (Buzz), Niece DeeAnn (Mike) and 13 grandchildren; Kate, Jenny, Scott, Brett, Amber, Janie, Christi, Ricky, Lacey, Eric, Janie, Bret, and Gale. She is also survived by an extended family of in-laws,  great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many good friends. Margaret Jane was a graduate of Bremerton High School in 1947, where she was voted “Most Comical”.  Margaret Jane was very active and involved in Port Orchard as manager of Barbara Best Fashions on Bay Street for many years and was a City Council Member for several terms in the mid 70s and 80’s. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, Activity Club, and a faithful attendee at all of her children and grandchildren’s school and athletic events. Margaret Jane will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her (including her little dog, T’ko). A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday at the home of Janelle Deisler, 6485 E. Hilldale Rd, Port Orchard, May 15th from 1 PM - 3 PM. All friends and family are encouraged to attend.
