Margaret Pykonen

Margaret Marie Pykonen, age 70, died March 17, 2000 in Port Orchard, WA.  She was born February 15, 1930 in Olympia, WA. to Clarence and Lellah (Tucker) Pier.  She was raised in Port Orchard, WA., where she attended junior high and South Kitsap High School.  She married Jack Pykonen on March 15, 1947 in the Evangel Temple in Bremerton, WA.  She worked for nearly 25 years with the Bremerton Sun Newspaper in the circulation department.  Most recently she was a homemaker.  Mrs. Pykonen volunteered at the South Kitsap Helpline for several years with her mother and sister, and she was a past member of the Port Orchard Assembly of God Church.  She is survived by her husband Jack Pykonen of Port Orchard, WA., sons John Pykonen of Shelton, WA., Jim Pykonen of Arlington, WA., Erik Pykonen of Port Orchard, WA., daughters Peggy Williams of Bremerton, WA., Debra Dove of Bremerton, WA., brothers Mick Pier of Spanaway, WA., Stanley Pier of Graham, WA., sister Marlene Knapper of Port Orchard, WA., 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, WA.Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Kitsap County, PO Box 3416,  Silverdale, WA., 98383.
