On February 25, 2008, Margot M. Turner of Kingston, Washington went to be with her Lord and Savior after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles H. Turner; her daughter Cynthia Dale Turner; son-in-law John Turner Kugler; son Charles Scott Turner; daughter-in-law Amy Turner and three grandchildren: Charles Xavier Turner, Emmett Hayes Turner and Easton Turner Kugler. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. & Mrs. Gulden Mackmull of Tigard, Oregon. Margot was a devoted Christian and was always active in her church. Before moving to Washington she was named the first woman deacon of the Tigard Assembly of God Church in Tigard, Oregon. A quiet, self-effacing person with a sweet intuitive spirit, her life was devoted to her Savior, her family, the service of others and the many abandoned, lost and abused dogs that found their way to her doorstep and with whom she had a special bond. No one will ever know all that she did to help those in need. Her kindness and compassion were legendary. Along the way no one ever heard her say a critical or unkind word about anyone regardless of the provocation. She was also an outstanding athlete being named at various times to the All New England, All Mid West and All Northwest first teams in women?s field hockey. She also excelled in swimming, horseback riding, biking, and was an avid hiker, camper, back packer, river rafter and gardener. A friend for the ages, she will be greatly missed by her family, especially her husband Charles as well as by those who knew and loved her so. A memorial service will be held at Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Interment will follow at Kingston Pioneer Cemetery. Remembrances can be made to the American Cancer Society.
