Maria Banks

Maria "Mary" Banks, 63 of Port Orchard died in Bremerton on October 11, 2008.  She was born December 3, 1944 in Yona, Guam.  She graduated from Saint Francis High School in Yona, Guam in 1963.  She married Jack Banks on September 15, 1973 in Port Orchard. Mary worked in various occupations including waitress, cook, newspaper delivery, and for the court house.  She loved children and all animals.  She was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard. Surviving are husband Jack; sons Andy Banks of Port Orchard and Chris Cole of North Carolina; daughters Rubie (Ryan) Schaaf of Belfair and Tilliesa Banks of Orting, Washington; sister Priscilla Saner of New Mexico; 26 grandchildren including Dominic, Darien, Aidan, Jonathan, Jayden, Jacob & Ryln - others in California, North Carolina, Virginia & Indiana; and 1 great-grandchild expected.  She was preceded in death by mother Tillie Scicek and brother Robert Scicek. Rosary at 11:00am on October 20, 2008 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, followed by a Memorial Mass at 12:00 Noon.
