Marian Rickett

Marian C. Rickett, 84 passed away unexpectedly October 6, 2009.  She was born July 24, 1925 in Fremont, NE to Elwin & Emma Davis.  At 12 years, Marian and her family moved to Port Orchard.  Graduating from South Kitsap HS in 1943, she worked in the typing pool at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.  In 1955 she went to work for Kitsap County Bank as a Teller were she met Don Rickett.  They were married on July 12, 1957.  Marian then became a homemaker raising her children.  She was an active member of the Port Orchard Yacht Club for many years; she bowled on a Women's league, and enjoyed dancing.  After Don's retirement she spent her winters in Wickenburg, AZ playing golf and traveling. After the passing of her husband Don in 1998 she remained busy with traveling, golfing, going for walks, weekly breakfast dates with close friend, and meeting old high school friends for monthly luncheons.  She liked watching sports and enjoyed going to Mariner's games.  She even took a hot air balloon ride in her 80's.  Most of all she loved her family, spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching them grow and have families of their own, coming together for family picnics.  She was so happy when everyone was together.  She was an independent and adventurous woman, she made the most out of her life. She was preceded in death by husband Don, son Morton George, sister Leona Prichard, & brother Paul E. Davis.  She is survived by daughters Marianne Wilsey of Federal Way & Susan Osgood of Port Orchard; sons Alan (Emily) Rickett of Port Orchard & Ron Rickett of West Seattle; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Celebration of life at 1:00pm on October 16, 2009 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.  Remembrances can be made to your favorite charity.
